Fresh ingredients, customizable meals, and quick service are helping Salad Station stand out across Baton Rouge during National Salad Month. During a recent Foodie Friday interview, company representatives highlighted the restaurant’s growth, menu variety, and focus on fresh preparation.
Founded in downtown Hammond, Salad Station has expanded into six states, including Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and Mississippi. The self-serve concept allows customers to build salads, wraps, and rice bowls while paying by the pound.
The Baton Rouge area currently features three locations on Perkins Road, Corporate Boulevard, and Coursey Boulevard.
Customers can choose from multiple lettuce bases, proteins, cheeses, vegetables, and 16 different dressings. Staff members say the flexibility appeals to a wide audience, from families searching for healthier meals to customers looking for high-protein lunch options.
One of the restaurant’s fastest-growing menu items is its rice bowl lineup. The pork carnitas bowl received praise during the interview for its smoky flavor, fresh vegetables, and affordability. Representatives said the bowl typically costs around $12.99 and can be ordered ahead through the company’s app for quick pickup.
Fresh preparation remains a major part of the company’s identity. Team members explained that ingredients like roasted street corn, chopped cilantro, and pickled onions are prepared in-house daily to maintain quality and flavor.
Salad Station also offers catering services for hospitals, offices, and events throughout the Baton Rouge area. The company said catering demand continues to grow as more businesses seek healthier meal options for employees and meetings.
