State Senator Patrick Connick was on the show today to discuss his bill that would allow college athletes in the state of Louisiana to profit off of their name, image, and likeness. Connick says this is not a pay-for-play bill but would just allow athlete compensation for popularity and even Instagram and other social media followers. He also breaks down some of the preventative measures that would prohibit sports agents from getting too involved in the athlete’s affairs. Finally, Connick explains why he decided to propose this bill and talks about the response he’s gotten so far.
