Assumption Parish gears up for the third annual Sugarland Music and Arts Festival this Saturday. Organizers designed the non-profit event to highlight and fund young local talent across Assumption Parish.
Supporting Local Student Artists
Festival co-founder Josh Hebert highlights the core mission of the event: providing local youth with opportunities in the arts. Proceeds from the festival directly fund musical instruments, art supplies, tuition, scholarships, and masterclasses for area students. By filling financial gaps, the organization ensures young performers and creators receive the support and spotlight they deserve.
14 Hours of Non-Stop Live Music
Attendees will enjoy 14 hours of continuous live music inside the air-conditioned Assumption Parish Community Center. The main stage features a diverse lineup, including:

Between main stage acts, solo performers keep the music going without interruption. Meanwhile, a dedicated student stage allows young musicians from middle school, high school, and local academies to showcase their skills.
Family-Friendly Fun, Art, and Local Food
Beyond the music, the festival hosts an expansive arts market filled with local vendors, makers, and visual artists. Visitors can explore food trucks offering festival eats, snowballs, and coffee, alongside fun activities like inflatables for kids. The festival also honors community leaders through its Hall of Fame awards, recognizing one local artist and one art educator annually.
