Rethinking the River Center Footprint
The potential construction of a new LSU arena creates an ideal scenario to reimagine the River Center. Transitioning large-scale concerts and major sporting events to a new venue allows the River Center to pivot toward sports tournaments, conferences, and community gatherings. Demolishing the existing arena structure opens up space for a 350- to 400-room anchor hotel while expanding exhibit halls and ballroom spaces to generate consistent local revenue.
