Last week, the State Bond Commission debated whether or not to withhold $39 million from the City of New Orleans for a Sewerage and Water Board Project. The debate turned political as it happened at the same time as the District Attorney publicly saying that the city would not prosecute anyone who decided to break the state’s trigger laws that banned abortions. That argument became moot, but the debate turned very public and very political very fast.
