What Is “Better In BTR”?

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) has a significant goal: to strengthen the talent pipeline across all stages of education and career development. From early childhood education to K-12 schools, college, and post-graduation, BRAC aims to enhance opportunities for local talent. While their retention-focused initiatives have been successful, they recognized the need for an additional strategy. Joining the show to discuss this issue further is Morgan Almeida.

In 2021, a national perception study revealed that people outside Louisiana had a neutral view of Baton Rouge. To change this narrative and attract young professionals, BRAC launched “Better In BTR.” Collaborating with Visit Baton Rouge and the Mayor’s Office, they hired a local creative agency to create a full website and run a national campaign. This campaign targets key Southeastern cities, utilizing digital marketing, social media, billboards, and strategic public relations efforts. The goal? To make Baton Rouge a place where residents and outsiders alike take pride in its potential and opportunities.
