Live After Five is bringing free live music back to downtown Baton Rouge this fall with a six-week concert series featuring local and regional talent, food vendors, drinks and plenty of opportunities to dance.
Six Weeks of Free Live Music
The fall series kicks off Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m. with Chris LeBlanc and Friends. Organizers expect a lively opening night, with a possible appearance by the University High School Marching Band.
The lineup continues September 25 with N’Tune, followed by After 8 on October 2 and The Rumble on October 16. The Michael Foster Project takes the stage October 23, while Rouge Crew closes the series October 30 with a Halloween-themed celebration known as “Rouge Boo.”
Organizer J. Hover told Mornings With Brian Haldane that the lineup reflects careful planning around Baton Rouge’s busy fall calendar. With LSU football drawing crowds to the area, Live After Five aims to showcase local musicians and give visitors another reason to spend the weekend downtown.
A Community Celebration
Each Live After Five concert offers free admission and a family-friendly atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy food from local vendors, cold drinks and live performances while connecting with the Baton Rouge community.
Hover also encouraged musicians who want to join future lineups to reach out through Live After Five’s social media channels or website and submit their information and performance materials.
The series receives support from presenting sponsors FMO Health, Our Lady of the Lake and the City of Baton Rouge, along with Visit Baton Rouge and other community sponsors.
As cooler October weather approaches, Live After Five invites Baton Rouge residents and visitors to bring a lawn chair, gather downtown and enjoy live music. The message from organizers is simple: Start the weekend at five and get up to dance.
