Ascension Parish Business Expo Boosts Local Growth and Networking

Ascension Parish is experiencing unprecedented economic momentum. The Ascension Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its annual Business Expo, bringing together over 135 local businesses to connect, showcase products, and foster regional growth. Chamber President Donnie Miller highlighted the event’s shift toward accessibility and community engagement.

Free Access Drives Record Attendance To encourage maximum participation, the Chamber waived all entrance fees this year. Organizers anticipated over 1,000 attendees, surpassing last year’s count of 850. By removing entry barriers, the event allowed job seekers, local leaders, and entrepreneurs to explore local vendor booths and network freely.

High-Value Networking and Local Keynotes The schedule featured a catered morning brunch by Arsenio’s on the River, replacing the traditional sit-down lunch to accommodate busy schedules. Keynote speaker Tim Barfield addressed workforce development and the synergy between government initiatives and private enterprise. Additionally, the exhibition floor highlighted locally manufactured goods—from athletic gear to industrial components—underscoring the parish’s diverse industrial footprint.

Economic Optimism Across Louisiana With over 250 billion dollars in announced industrial and commercial projects statewide, regional business leaders share a strong sense of optimism. The expo concluded with the “Taste of Ascension” happy hour, featuring 13 local restaurants. Through strategic networking and targeted advocacy, Ascension Parish continues to demonstrate how collaborative business environments drive sustainable regional success.
