Finding Common Ground Outside the Courtroom
Addressing recent friction regarding lawsuits filed by the parish attorney’s office, Edwards clarified that his goal remains collaborative problem-solving. While recent legal filings aimed to address unresolved timeline issues, Edwards reiterated his belief in sitting down directly with leaders like St. George Mayor Dustin Yates.

To resolve internal miscommunications between the administration, the Metropolitan Council, and the parish attorney, local leaders are proposing a new operational framework. The initiative suggests placing potential legal actions on the Metropolitan Council agenda prior to initiating or responding to lawsuits, ensuring greater public transparency and council alignment.
