Pickleball for Heroes Event
Mark your calendars for this Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Electric Pickle on Government Street is hosting a “Pickleball for Heroes” event. Half of the proceeds will benefit the local fire department, while the other half will go directly to Crime Stoppers. All public safety personnel and their families can play for free. Attendees will enjoy live music, food, and drinks. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support first responders and connect with the community.
Baton Rouge Police Seek Hit-and-Run Information
The Baton Rouge Police Department is urgently requesting the public’s assistance regarding a hit-and-run incident involving a juvenile pedestrian. The incident occurred in late May around 5:00 PM near North Foster Drive and Airline Highway. A dark-colored compact vehicle struck a young male as he attempted to cross the street. Fortunately, the injuries were not fatal, though the victim suffered a broken leg. Investigators believe a Black female was driving the vehicle at the time. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
Wanted Individuals in Ascension and East Baton Rouge
Law enforcement officials are also tracking down several wanted individuals:

Brandon Hoover (46): Wanted by Ascension Parish investigators for aggravated battery, criminal trespassing, and reckless operation of a vehicle. Hoover allegedly struck and dragged a resident with his vehicle while trying to maneuver out of a driveway.

Jonathan Ambo (29): Wanted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office on charges of domestic abuse battery strangulation and interfering with emergency communication.
