Letlow Focuses on Flood Recovery
Letlow addressed the damage caused by Tropical Storm Arthur. Heavy rainfall flooded homes, businesses, and farmland across several Louisiana parishes.
She recently toured damaged areas with Gov. Jeff Landry. Letlow said the destruction was heartbreaking, especially for families and farmers dealing with major losses.
Her office quickly contacted state and federal officials to prepare disaster assistance. Letlow also urged residents to report property and crop damage through the state’s disaster reporting system. She said those reports are important when seeking federal aid.
Trump and Other Leaders Back Letlow
As Election Day approaches, Letlow continues to highlight support from President Donald Trump. She said Trump recently released a new campaign video and remains a strong supporter of her Senate bid.
Letlow called the endorsement an honor. She said her relationship with Trump helps her advocate for Louisiana priorities in Washington.
She also pointed to endorsements from U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins and Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards. Letlow praised both leaders and said their support reflects confidence in her campaign.
Key Priorities in Her Senate Plan
Letlow used the interview to promote her 15-point plan for Louisiana. Agriculture remains one of her top priorities.
She said Congress must pass a new farm bill and continue supporting farmers. According to Letlow, agriculture plays a major role in both the economy and national security.
Energy production is another major focus. She said Louisiana should continue leading in domestic energy development while creating jobs and strengthening the economy.
Flood Insurance Remains a Concern
Letlow also discussed the rising cost of flood insurance. She said many Louisiana families struggle to afford coverage.
If elected to the Senate, she plans to work on reforms that make flood insurance more affordable. Letlow said lowering costs could help families stay in Louisiana and protect future generations.
