It’s Annual Meeting Time for LABI

The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) is gearing up for its annual meeting this Wednesday, with Rowdy Gaudet joining the discussion. The event, held at the Crowne Plaza, will feature five hours of live broadcasting, including segments by Moon Griffon. The meeting will focus on LABI’s strategic plan, LA Driven, which aims to push the state forward. Over the past year, more than fifty LA Driven-approved measures have been enacted under the new administration and legislature.

This year’s theme, “Louisiana Full Throttle,” emphasizes continued progress and pushing forward with the strategic priorities. The meeting will bring together business leaders and policymakers to discuss the future of Louisiana. Last year’s meeting saw significant events, including the new governor signing a reform on stage and previews of the legislative sessions.

The morning session will focus on the energy outlook for 2025, a cornerstone of Louisiana’s economic development. With a new federal administration, there is a renewed focus on unleashing America’s energy potential. National and local speakers, including Dustin Myers from the American Petroleum Institute and Tyler Gray, Louisiana’s Secretary of the Department of Energy and Natural Resources, will discuss how Louisiana can capitalize on these opportunities.

The discussion will also address the shift in energy strategies, balancing traditional oil and gas with green energy initiatives. Louisiana’s natural resources, logistical advantages, and skilled workforce position it as a global energy leader. Workforce development remains a critical focus for LABI, ensuring a strong pipeline of skilled workers to sustain and expand economic momentum.

Overall, the annual meeting aims to provide insights into Louisiana’s future, leveraging its strengths and addressing challenges to drive continued progress and economic growth.
