Beverly Haydel from Sequitur Consulting joins the show to talk apprenticeships.
The state of Louisiana recognizes the critical need to bolster its labor supply and cultivate talent. The LA23 plan highlighted our low labor supply rate compared to national standards. To address this, the focus is on creating pathways for juniors and seniors to enter the workforce early. Enter registered apprenticeships.
Kate and his team are championing this cause, emphasizing the importance of apprenticeship programs. Beverly, along with her partner Doreen Brasso, conducted an inventory of existing partnerships and identified opportunities for collaboration. Their efforts culminated in a toolkit document, soon to be accessible to public school leaders statewide. This resource will guide educators on launching registered apprenticeships.
The goal? To kickstart five to six new apprenticeship programs. While some models already exist, Beverly’s team aims to expand these initiatives over the next few months. Stay tuned as Louisiana invests in its workforce, nurturing talent through apprenticeships.
