Parks Stevenson, who oversees the USS KIDD Museum in downtown Baton Rouge, discusses the successful transportation of the ship to its destination in Houma. Despite challenges related to water levels, a collaborative effort involving salvage teams, tugs, and divers allowed them to move the ship out of its cradle. The process required precision and coordination to navigate shallow waters and ensure safety, and should see a return to the Baton Rouge area in Spring of 2025.
