Mornings with Brian Haldane: Chip Kline 9/8/21

Head of Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, Chip Kline joins the show to give an overview on how Louisiana handled hurricane Ida. Chip admits that the positive takeaways are few, but the levy systems were able to hold strong in the face of a category four hurricane. In the face of one of the biggest natural disasters that Louisiana has faced since Katrina, the safeguards put in place to protect Louisiana residents succeeded for the most part. However, that does not take away the fact that the death and destruction that hurricane Ida caused has left Louisiana homes and families shaken and it will take time to rebuild.
