Dr. Jennifer Rood with the Pennington Biomedical Research Center was on the show to talk about a study that was conducted to determine when a person’s metabolism starts to decrease. She talks about how people store and use energy based on their age and they determined that a person’s metabolism doesn’t drastically slow down until around age 60, which is much later than originally believed. Dr. Rood also says that sex was not a contributing factor in metabolism because both men and women’s metabolism decrease around the same age. Hear that and more from Dr. Rood here.
