Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks was on the show to talk about safety with the Tiki Tubing business that has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. With recent accidents occurring there have been questions about the safety of those attending and Ricks says while at the moment there is no ordinance mandating tubing, he hopes to put one in place in hopes to keep everyone safe while enjoying the river. Ricks stressed that it’s not his intention to shut the business down, he wants to regulate water safety to determine whether or not the current is safe for the public. He also explains how big of a factor alcohol plays into certain incidents. Finally, he shifts his focus to some of the river projects that could be coming to the parish. Hear it here.
