Ashley Hebert with the American Heart Association was on the show today to talk about some bills in the legislative session that could impact the association. Ashley starts off by talking about House Bill 525 which would allow drugs like smokeless tobacco and others to be regulated and are claiming to help people get off of dangerous tobacco products. Ashley expresses her concerns on the bill and breaks down what tobacco and nicotine can do to a person’s heart. Finally, she talks about a bill that will extend Medicaid coverage for pregnant women for up to a year after giving birth.
