Bill Cassidy Talks Funding For States 5-20-20

Senator Bill Cassidy joined us today to talk about the next round of federal funding that will be sent out.  This funding will be sent out in thirds and each state will receive an amount of money based on how hard the state’s economy was impacted by the Coronavirus.  Cassidy explains that the reason the money is being distributed in thirds is because this money is supposed to carry over into 2021 to help out long term.  Other factors that will determine the funding the state receives is amount of infected per capita, how many businesses have closed and how long they stayed closed.  Finally, Cassidy breaks down the total amount of funding and how this funding will help companies from having to lay off people and it will also help pay police officers and first responders.  He also discusses the huge stimulus package that Speaker Pelosi is proposing.  Hear the full interview here.
