Dr. Stephen Heymsfield Talks Obesity And Covid-19


Dr. Stephen Heymsfield with the Pennington Biomedical Research Center was on the show to talk about obesity.  Obesity is one of the main comorbidities in regards to the Coronavirus and it puts people at risk of developing a serious case of Covid-19.  Dr. Heymsfield talks about the many health problems that are caused by obesity and how this pre-existing condition can lower a person’s immune system.  Then, Dr. Heymsfield breaks down things people can do to prevent obesity, including dieting and being physically active.  Finally, he says that with the Coronavirus pandemic occurring, there has never been a more important time to be healthy and active.  To learn about obesity and a lot more, visit Pennington’s website at www.pbrc.edu.

Brian Haldane

Brian started in radio in late 2004 as a part-time board operator, but โ€œmade his bonesโ€ in the business a year later when Hurricane Katrina struck, catapulting him into a full time position covering both news and production of live broadcasts.
