Judge Jessie Leblanc Resigns

Jessie Leblanc

Judge Jessie Leblanc has officially resigned as a District Judge in the 23rd Judicial District. She submitted her resignation letter Thursday. A letter that simultaneously expressed contrition for her own actions while, leveling accusations at a number of others for similar actions.

Our news partners at WBRZ obtained a copy of the letter. You can read it here.

Judge Leblanc start by saying “it is with a heavy heart, and profound regret that I formally tender my resignation as Judge, 23rd Judicial District Court.”

From there, she talks about the difficult time that her and her family have endured as a result of her scandal. She then takes full responsibility for that scandal.

And then, the tide and tone turned. Judge Leblanc calls out other officials for knowing about her extramarital affair. She comments on other affairs that she alleges Bruce Prejean, the man she admitted to having an affair with, also had. She also defends herself against racist accusations by citing her record while pointing out others reactions to the verdicts within that record.
