On this Hayride Radio, Scott McKay and Brian Haldane recap the elections. Scott breaks down the Governor’s election, where Democrat John Bel Edwards defeated Republican challenger Eddie Rispone. The republicans swept every other state wide election except for the Governor’s seat. Scott McKay explains why he believes that Eddie Rispone was not a great candidate and his campaign was poorly run. When looking at which candidate won each Parish, it is worth noting that John Bel Edwards won Jefferson Parish, which is typically a republican leaning Parish. Jefferson is the Parish that backed multiple republican candidates in the past, including Bobby Jindal. Scott and Brian talk about why Rispone lost Jefferson Parish and what went wrong in Rispone’s campaign.
