On Community Concerns, Brian interviewed a variety of guests on topics concerning to the citizens of Baton Rouge.
The first guest was Pollster John Couvillon who was interviewed on Rock It Right Radio to talk about different polls that he has researched in order to get a feel on where things are leaning heading into election day. He explains which candidates he believes have the lead in their respective races and what outcomes citizens should expect.
Laurie Schulenberg from Our Lady of the Lake was on the show to talk about the opening of the new Children’s Hospital. She tells Brian what people can expect from the new hospital and what new resources and medical technology will be available there. Laurie also discusses how many children will be transported to the new hospital from where they are currently at. She also breaks down the process of actually opening and the work that it took to get to this point.
Next, BRPD was with Brian to talk about a spike in the number of pedestrians being struck and killed by automobiles. They talk about why this is happening and what needs to be done about it. Most of the pedestrians hit are around the LSU area which they consider a hotspot for these types of accidents.
Then, Joey David from the Capitol Park Museum joined Brian to talk about a new exhibit that will be displayed inside the museum that pays tribute to Canary Islanders that came to Louisiana in the late 1770’s. He provides details on what the exhibit is and how it was all put together. The exhibit will debut on October 17th.
