Alex Juan Talks Suicide Prevention

It is suicide prevention month and there is a rise in suicide rates among veterans.  Alex Juan from the Louisiana Department of Veteran Affairs joined the show to talk about the rise in suicide.

Alex talks about the summit that the Department of Veteran Affairs is holding this week.  The summit is happening this Friday at American Legion Post 38 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.   The idea is that they want people to talk about suicide and for veterans to share their suicide experiences and whether or not they’ve considered suicide.  This is an opportunity for these veterans to get help dealing with suicide.  Alex explains what will occur at the summit and what special guests and programs will be at the summit.
