Mary Stein Talks Pop-up Library

East Baton Rouge Library Director Mary Stein joined us in studio to talk about the new pop-up library.  Stein says that the new pop-up library system will allow folks who do not have a library card to get online and have access to a few hundred titles.  She gives an example of how if you do not own a library card and you are on a flight or hotel room, you can use the pop-up library to read a variety of books and magazines.  She says that this gives more people access to Baton Rouge’s vast library system.

Mary also talks about the library’s business service center in the airport for business travelers to help them connect with the business crowd.  She also says that they are looking into putting a kiosk at the airport that with the swipe of a library card, would dispense a book.
