Reports of an “Armed Intruder” on LSU’s Campus – Updated – all clear

Update: LSU has reported that that there is no threat on campus and has returned to normal operations.

Portions of LSU’s campus were evacuated and others were placed on lock-down as there were reports of an “armed intruder” in Coates Hall.

Not long after, a second tweet went out that read:

lsu armed intruder 2

That link went to a page that tells you what to do in the event of an active shooter. Though it is worth noting, that at the time of the tweets, there had been no reports of shots being fired.

We talked to 2 different people on campus. One on the Quad side of Coates Hall, the other on the Student Union side of the building. The person on the Student Union side reported a heavy police presence. However, the person on the quad side said, “if not for the alerts, you wouldn’t know anything was going on.”

We will continue to update as more information becomes available.
