Marketa Garner-Walters Talks About Adoption

Talk 107.3

Secretary of the Department of Children and Family Services Marketa Garner-Walters was on the show to talk about her department making a push for parents to adopt foster teens.  Teens in foster care are not adopt at the same rate that young children in the system are.  In the last legislative session the adoption age was extended from 18 years of age to 21 years of age.  Because of that, the children will stay in the foster system longer which increases the need of adoption for foster teens.  Hear it here!
