Blake Bilger from Cypress Hemp joined the show to talk about the new legislation regarding CBD oil and hemp.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Blake says that “all cannabis that has less than 0.3% THC is defined as hemp and all cannabis that has more than 0.3% THC is defined as marijuana.” Basically, what the what defines marijuana and hemp is how much THC was in the plant when it was harvested. Bilger talks about how CBD was discovered and how the THC is brought down before harvesting.
What got passed in the legislative session regarding hemp?
Blake explains that the bill that was passed during the legislative session legalizes the cultivation, processing and the sale of CBD products. The license for cultivation and processing will not be available until the end of this year these products will be available immediately and will be regulated by the ATC. There will be two aspects of sale when it comes to CBD, the retail and wholesale aspects.
What symptoms does CBD oil treat?
Bilger explains that a big part of the client base is the older population. He says that the reason for this is because of the aches and pains that people that age go through. Blake then discusses what symptoms CBD oil can actually treat. He says that it can be used for anything from stress and anxiety, pain, inflammation, and even digestive health and insomnia among other things. CBD oil can help balance things in your body that are out of whack.
How does CBD show up on a drug test?
Blake previews the different kinds of CBD oils which are full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate. Full spectrum will have trace amounts of THC in it which could cause a false positive for marijuana. Broad spectrum has all the same benefits as full spectrum but has zero THC in them.
