How important is flood insurance?

Today on the show, Brian had Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon in studio to talk about the flooding that occurred in Baton Rouge on Thursday.  Donelon compares this flooding to the 2016 flood as a “surprise attack”.  He explains how homeowners can minimize their damage and how to be reimbursed for all of the objects that were destroyed as well as time and effort it took to gut the house.  Donelon also tells us how people need to be aware of fake claims adjusters and contractors that scam people.  Donelon then talks about the importance of being properly insured.
