“Swatting”: how far can prosecution go in Louisiana?


“Swatting” is the name given to placing a phony 9-1-1 call, sending armed police to a person’s address with the intent of making that person’s life miserable. In a recent and disturbing case in Kansas, police wound up killing an innocent and unarmed man, after an accused “swatter” managed to send cops to that victim’s home. It’s unclear how Kansas will prosecute the accused perpetrator of the deadly hoax.
