Legal analyst: First Amendment DOES trump Council agenda restrictions


Three local black activists have filed a federal lawsuit against the EBR Metro Council and Mayor Pro Tem Scott Wilson, alleging their 1st Amendment rights were violated, when they were silenced and escorted out of council chambers earlier this year for speaking off topics on the meeting agenda. Legal analyst Bryan Jeansonne joined AMBR’s Kevin & Bill after researching Constitutional law and how it interplays with state laws pertaining to meetings and parliamentary procedure. Brian Haldane

Brian started in radio in late 2004 as a part-time board operator, but “made his bones” in the business a year later when Hurricane Katrina struck, catapulting him into a full time position covering both news and production of live broadcasts.
