Ending Down Syndrome in Iceland.


A big story this past week:  Down Syndrome is almost eradicated in Iceland.  No medical miracle here, however, the way it happens is through pregnancy screening and pregnancy termination.  This hit a nerve in the United States, with many questioning the ethics of this “solution.”  We asked Dr. Michael Rolfsen, a medical ethicist here in Baton Rouge about how the medical and scientific profession in our nation might view this practice.
